The following position is to join our RTX Corporate, Enterprise Services, Research Center or BBN team:
The Raytheon Technologies Corporate Core Network Services organization is currently recruiting for a Jr. Network Security Engineer. The successful candidate will be expected to engage with internal UTC business units to evaluate network security issues, manage incidents, and work with network engineers to implement new firewall deployments from a network and security policy perspective. The candidate is expected to be proficient with at least 5 years on firewall administration, 2 years of experience working with firewalls, and familiarity with networking. Familiarity with zero-trust solutions including SDN and micro-segmentation.

The salary range for this role is 66,000 USD - 130,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays. Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

- Review and assign network security requests
- Track, prioritize, and resolve standard and non-standard tickets
- Provide technical support
- Collaborate across teams
- Respond to network security incidents
- Update network policy in accordance with change control practices
- Work to gain a clear understanding of firewall requests with requestors
- Update and Maintain technical documentation
- Manage end user expectations
Qualifications You Must Have:
- University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field
- Basic understanding of firewalls and networks
- Basic understanding of network security best practices and evaluating security requests for implementation
- Basic understanding of network protocols
- Experience working with Palo Alto/Checkpoint/Fortinet
- Experience working with ServiceNow
- or US Person Required
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Basic understanding of SEIM technologies
- Understanding of DNS/DHCP/IP address management system
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Strong working knowledge of MS Office Tools
- Comptia Network+
- Comptia Security+
