Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analyst to support a major Finance Application Modernization initiative. This role involves working on-site in McLean, Virginia, five days a week. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data analysis, ETL processes, and data warehousing, with a strong focus on modernizing outdated data platforms and workflows. This is a contract-only position, and candidates must be available for a single 60-minute virtual interview.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with cross-functional teams to identify dependencies between applications and systems on the current Corporate Data Warehouse (CDW) platform.
• Analyze and interpret Business Requirement Specifications (BRS) and ETL code to align with modernization objectives.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data requirements for Finance and Accounting systems.
• Create detailed mapping documents that outline data flows, transformations, and system interactions.
• Develop and validate complex SQL queries to support data analysis and migration efforts.
• Assist in mapping source to target tables/columns and define derivation logic as part of the modernization process.
• Ensure comprehensive documentation and traceability of all data lineage and mapping activities.

Qualifications:

• At least 5+ years of experience in data analysis, data warehousing, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of ETL processes with the ability to read and interpret ETL code.
• Practical experience or familiarity with tools such as DataStage, Informatica, SAS, and Python.
• Expertise in complex SQL for data analysis, validation, and script development.
• Strong understanding of enterprise-scale systems and data environments, with the ability to create data mapping documents.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
• Experience analyzing Business Requirement Specifications (BRS) and ETL code, with knowledge of UNIX. Development experience is preferred.

Pay Range: $80 - $55

The specific compensation for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role as well as the cost of labor in the market; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment.
