Description:
We are looking for a Cybersecurity Engineer who is eager to contribute to a small, fast-paced team! Our ideal candidate will have a background in Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity frameworks, as well as IT infrastructure experience including route and switch, firewall, server provisioning, virtualization, and container architecture. In this role you'll support government projects helping to secure products and systems around the globe.

Pay Rate: $75 - $80 an hour

Location: San Diego, CA (Open to Remote)

Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, build, and/or implement secure architectures
  • Create documentation to track vulnerabilities and remediations, populate security packages, and present program security status
  • Provide technical and policy guidance that will enable successful security accreditation efforts
  • Manage system security requirements
  • Manage customer firewalls, routers, and switches
  • Validate and test security functionality


Experience Requirements:
  • 7+ years of experience in Cybersecurity Engineering, Information Assurance, secure systems/network administration, or similar discipline
  • Experience designing and documenting security plans, policies, and procedures
  • Familiarity with security compliance standards such as NIST 800-53, RMF, CIS, or similar
  • Familiarity with cybersecurity defense and detection methodologies
  • Familiarity with defense-in-depth architecture
  • Good understanding of IT systems, centralized directory services, and IP networking

What will help you on the job

  • CCNA or similar certification
  • CompTIA Sec+ CE, CISSP, or similar certification
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Good interpersonal abilities
  • The ability to manage contending priorities and timelines
  • Strong self-motivation and independent work ethic
  • Demonstrated skill in collaborating with a team that is geographically dispersed


Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Cybersecurity or a related engineering field


Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range.
