Required Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant field
Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in software validation (Note: The generic JD says 8-10 years, but the specific "Story Behind the Need" clarifies 3+ years is acceptable)
SIL/HIL Testing: Proven experience with Software-in-the-Loop (SIL) and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) systems
Python & Scripting: Strong skills in Python and test automation scripting
Test Documentation: Experience writing and maintaining detailed test cases
Preferred Experience, Knowledge & Skills:
Technical: Experience with Azure DevOps, Docker, and Linux environments
Hardware: Skills in electronic hardware troubleshooting and maintenance
Soft Skills Required:
Excellent verbal and written communication
Ability to work as a team and work independently
Core Responsibilities:
Test Execution & Development: Execute manual test cases and develop automated test scripts to validate new software releases
Defect Management: Identify, document, and debug software defects. Work directly with developers to triage and resolve issues
Test Planning: Create and maintain detailed test plans, scenarios, and strategies for new features and bug fixes
Collaboration: Coordinate with global systems, software, and validation teams across different locations (e.g., Montreal)
Documentation: Ensure technical accuracy and completeness of all testing documentation
Disqualifiers / Red Flags:
Overqualification: Candidates with a PhD are explicitly mentioned as being overqualified
Remote Work: The position is on-site full-time. Candidates seeking remote work will not be a fit
