We are seeking an experienced FinOps Engineer to manage and optimize cloud usage and costs across multiple platforms. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure cost transparency, implement optimization strategies, and foster a culture of financial accountability in cloud operations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and analyze cloud usage and spending trends across AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform; identify anomalies and drive timely resolutions.

  • Implement and maintain cost optimization strategies such as Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, and right-sizing of resources.

  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports to provide real-time visibility into cloud spending.

  • Establish and enforce tagging standards and cost allocation policies; ensure all resources are properly tagged each month.

  • Educate and support teams on FinOps best practices, promoting a culture of cost awareness and efficiency.

  • Automate cost management workflows and integrate FinOps practices into CI/CD pipelines.

  • Administer Flexera One Cloud Cost Optimization (CCO) platform and ensure effective usage.

  • Participate in FinOps community forums and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and best practices (e.g., FinOps Foundation, FinOps-X days, Slack channels, etc.).


Technical Skills

  • Experience working with billing and usage APIs from AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.

  • Knowledge of data warehouses/lakes (e.g., BigQuery, Redshift, Snowflake).

  • Hands-on experience with ETL/ELT pipelines (e.g., dbt, Airflow, custom scripts).

  • Proficiency with data visualization and dashboarding tools (e.g., Power BI, Looker, Grafana, Tableau).

  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git for managing dashboard definitions and metric logic.

  • Basic scripting or coding skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages.


Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of overall experience, including at least 2 years in a FinOps engineering role.

  • Strong understanding of major cloud platforms and pricing models.

  • In-depth knowledge of cloud-native cost management tools and Flexera One CCO.

  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau).

  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation.

  • Excellent communication, analytical, and collaboration skills.


Preferred Qualifications

  • FinOps Certified Practitioner or Engineer certification (or equivalent).

  • Prior experience in DevOps or Cloud Engineering roles.
