Position: OSP Project Manager

Location: Irving, TX

12 Month Contract w/ Potential Extension

Focus Points:

o Experience with reading/interpreting fiber construction as-builts and fiber splicing cut sheets or schematics.

o Working knowledge/proficiency/experience with ArcGIS feature creation/query tools.

o Experience with capturing linear and point features and attributes from documentation in GIS application.

o Able to work independently on multiple projects within organizational practices and guidelines.

o Experience with GIS data verification to confirm accuracy and adherence to validation rules.

Worker will be working with Engineers and records to capture fiber network inventory from paper/electronic records into our ArcGIS based database.

Responsibilities:

o Performs GIS/drafting duties and assignments of moderate scope.

o Follows standard organizational practices and guidelines.

o Solves problems of somewhat complex nature and assists less-experienced employees with solving problems and resolving issues.

o Prepares custom maps and diagrams from GIS data.

o Meet with users to define data needs, project requirements, required outputs, or to develop applications.

o Conduct Research to locate and obtain existing feature sets.

o Gather, analyze, and integrate spatial data from staff and determine how best the information can be displayed using GIS.

o Compile geographic data from a variety of sources including censuses, field observation, satellite imagery, aerial photographs, and existing maps.

o Analyze spatial data for geographic statistics to incorporate into documents and reports.

o Design and update database, applying additional knowledge of spatial feature representations.

o Analyze geographic relationships among varying types of data.

o Prepare metadata and other documentation.

o Move, copy, delete, and add files, drawings, and maps to output reports in hard copy or electronic transfer.

o Provides GIS (Geographic Information Systems) analysis and services to all departments.

o Convert electronic files to PDF and upload to File Management Database.

Qualifications:

o Requires High school degree and 4 years or more job-related experience or degree in related field. A combination of education and applicable work experience may be acceptable.

o General Computer Skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, Visio) Google Earth, Adobe Pro or similar applications.

o Ability to read and interpret underground and aerial fiber telecom facilities from records on maps and field notes.

o Experience with GIS based design platforms such as Arc Map, QGIS, MapInfo, OSPi, Network Engineer, or 3GIS.

o Analytical Skills - The ability to resolve problems associated with given task.

o Ability to pay close attention to detail and make sound decisions using information provided.

o High comprehension skills.

o Strong Verbal and Written communication skills.

o Capable of working with minimum supervision.

o Capable of working remote.
