Job Title Business Analyst

Location Redwood City, California - Hybrid (Tuesday - Thursday)

Duration 12+ months, contract-to-hire (No Conversion Fee)

Interview 1-3 rounds (Meet 4 people)

Job Description

We are seeking a Business Analyst (Applications) to join our IT Applications group on a 1-year contract basis, with the potential to convert to a permanent role. This is a mid-level role supporting a portfolio of business applications-primarily SharePoint (must-have) and smaller departmental tools (e.g., data room, contract management systems). Tableau administration experience is a nice-to-have.

This role is not infrastructure-focused and does not involve supporting large enterprise systems. Instead, the BA will act as a generalist, helping various business groups with application administration, workflows, and process improvements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide administration and support for SharePoint sites: create new sites, manage permissions, configure workflows, and perform cleanup projects.
  • Support smaller business applications (e.g., contract management system, data room software) and assist with migrations or replacements.
  • Partner with business stakeholders across multiple functions (Finance, HR, Legal, Clinical Ops, etc.) to understand processes and requirements.
  • Assist in the rollout of new applications, including ticketing systems and replacements for existing tools.
  • Translate business needs into workflows, documentation, and light configuration within supported apps.
  • Act as a liaison between business users and IT for application-related issues.
  • Collaborate with a small, tight-knit IT Applications team (3 app specialists, 1 PM, plus security/infra and helpdesk teams).
  • Document processes, maintain system configurations, and provide end-user support where needed.

Qualifications

  • 5 8 years of experience as a Business Analyst or Application Analyst.
  • Strong experience with SharePoint administration (site creation, permissions, workflows).
  • Tableau administration experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience supporting small to mid-size business applications (not large-scale ERP/CRM).
  • Strong ability to understand business processes and translate them into simple workflows or configurations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills-able to work across multiple departments.
  • Comfortable in a smaller company environment (experience in organizations ~200 500 employees preferred)
