Job Details

BlueHalo, an AV Company, has an opportunity for a Junior Engineer to join our multidisciplinary team in the development and refinement of an automated process for the decontamination of non-ambulatory patients. The process involves safely transporting patients through an air curtain system within an enclosed chamber to remove hazardous contaminants. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a vital project at the intersection of biomedical engineering, mechanical systems, and automated control technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the design, prototyping, and testing of an environmental chamber equipped with air curtains for patient decontamination.
  • Assist in the development and integration of mechanical and automation components, including air delivery systems, sensors, conveyors, and patient support systems.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and technical staff to ensure system performance, safety, and regulatory compliance.
  • Conduct technical analyses, including airflow modeling, thermal studies, and structural assessments under supervision.
  • Participate in system validation, including test planning, data collection, and performance reporting.
  • Prepare documentation such as CAD drawings, assembly procedures, and maintenance guides.
  • Assist in troubleshooting and refining system components based on test results and user feedback.
  • Ensure compliance with medical and safety standards applicable to patient-handling systems.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Systems Engineering, or related field.
  • 0-2 years of experience in a relevant engineering role (internships or academic projects acceptable).
  • Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.).
  • Basic understanding of fluid dynamics, airflow systems, and environmental control.
  • Some experience with automation or electromechanical systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and adapt in a fast-paced R&D environment

Preferred Skills:
  • Exposure to medical device design or patient-handling equipment.
  • Experience with CFD software or airflow simulation.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, microcontrollers, or embedded systems.

Why Join Us:
  • Be part of a mission-driven team focused on improving emergency response and patient safety.
  • Work on innovative projects that blend engineering, healthcare, and automation.
  • Opportunities for growth, mentorship, and exposure to advanced technologies.
