Windows Server Engineer | Hybrid | Secret or TS Clearance

Job Title: Windows Server Engineer

Location: Hybrid (4 days on-site / 1 day remote), Washington, DC

Clearance Required: Active Secret clearance or higher.

Summary: 

IBSS is seeking a Windows Server Administrator to support the enterprise Microsoft Server environments for a government bureau that provides advice to the Executive Branch on the telecommunications industry. This position falls within the CIO office of the bureau and supports data centers in Washington, DC, Gaithersburg, MD, and Boulder, CO. This role provides highly skilled operations and maintenance of the Microsoft Server (physical, virtual, and cloud-based) environments with a focus on high availability and security to ensure the bureau's operational applications can support their mission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Installation, configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting support for Microsoft Windows Servers (2016/2019) and services (SQL Server, SCCM, WSUS, AD, etc.) in physical, virtual (VMware vSphere 6.5/7.0,) and cloud environments (Azure, O365).
• Active Directory troubleshooting/configuration, Patch deployment and management, automation & scripting.
• Load operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components.
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems.
• Provide support for GPO management and Microsoft Intune, Defender ATP, and Modern Desktop Deployment.
• Problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution of issues
• Ensure DISA STIG security baselines are applied, and security vulnerabilities are mitigated with patches or compensating controls.
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization and perform system capacity analysis and planning.
• Conduct detailed analysis and provide feedback to management and internal customers for escalated tickets.

Requirements

• Four (4) years or more of applied experience supporting on-premises, virtual, and cloud-based Microsoft Windows environments.
• Strong applied experience designing, deploying, operating, and maintaining Microsoft Servers and Services (SQL Server, SCCM, WSUS, AD, etc.) in both on-premises and Microsoft Cloud environments (Azure and O365)
• Must be familiar with the entire Microsoft ecosystem (Windows, Office 365, Azure, Exchange, InTune) 
• Domain Controller experience
• Active SECRET clearance is required
• Strong understanding and experience with security tools such as Tenable and Azure Sentinel.
• Familiarity with Government Security Policies to facilitate baseline (DISA STIG) configurations on Servers, Workstations, and Network Systems.
