Job Title: ETL Test Lead
Location: Vancouver, Bc (Hybrid)
Duration/Term: Long-Term Contract


Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated ETL Test Lead to own the quality assurance efforts for our data integration and warehousing initiatives. The ideal candidate will bring deep technical knowledge of ETL tools (Informatica, Talend, SSIS), expert-level SQL querying, and a strong grasp of data warehousing, data modeling, and automation frameworks. This role involves collaborating across teams, leading testers, and ensuring accurate, timely, and trusted delivery of data.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor a team of ETL testers in test strategy, execution, and reporting
  • Define and develop comprehensive ETL test strategies, test plans, and test cases
  • Perform complex data validation, integrity, and transformation testing
  • Design and execute advanced SQL queries for validating source target mappings
  • Collaborate with developers, analysts, and architects to ensure robust test coverage
  • Manage defect tracking, impact assessment, and coordination with development teams
  • Maintain and improve ETL testing frameworks and automation tools
  • Oversee testing cycles including performance, regression, and release validation
  • Continuously identify and implement process improvements in data testing practices
  • Report on test metrics, quality risks, and resolution progress to leadership


Required Skills:

  • Strong hands-on experience with ETL tools (Informatica PowerCenter/IDMC, Talend, SSIS)
  • Advanced SQL skills for large-scale data validation and transformation testing
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing principles and dimensional modeling
  • Proficiency in using test management platforms (e.g., Jira, Azure DevOps, ALM)
  • Exposure to ETL automation tools (e.g., QuerySurge, Informatica Data Validation Option)
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in cross-team settings


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse)
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python or Shell for test automation
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and data delivery orchestration
  • Relevant certifications in ETL, Data Warehousing, or Testing
