Description: Our client is currently seeking a Senior UI & Web Services Developer
Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid - 2 days/week in office
Duration: 12 months with possibility of extension
About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned developer to contribute to the modernization of HHSC IT applications. This role focuses on both User Interface (UI) and Web Services development, with a strong emphasis on scalable, responsive design and service-oriented architecture.
Responsibilities
Experience Required: 8+ years
Candidates must meet or exceed 8 years of experience in all the following areas:
Front-End/UI Development
Years Preference Experience 3 Preferred JBoss or IBM WebSphere Application Server (v8 or later) 3 Preferred Agile Development Methodologies (Scrum preferred) 2 Preferred Development experience for mobile and tablet platforms

Responsibilities
- Front-End Development:
- Build modern, responsive Single Page Applications (SPAs) using Angular and TypeScript.
- Implement client-facing applications with responsive design principles.
- Web Services Development:
- Convert legacy SOAP-based services to RESTful APIs.
- Develop secure RESTful services using JBoss EAP.
- Full Lifecycle Participation:
- Engage in requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and deployment.
- Create and maintain technical and design documentation.
- Maintenance & Support:
- Perform system analysis, defect resolution, and production support.
- Apply contemporary testing methodologies and best practices.
Experience Required: 8+ years
Candidates must meet or exceed 8 years of experience in all the following areas:
Front-End/UI Development
- 4+ years with Angular (TypeScript)
- HTML5, JavaScript, JQuery, AJAX, CSS3, Bootstrap, SASS
- 4+ years developing RESTful services with security standards (JWT, OAuth)
- Experience with SOAP and REST APIs
- Java, JEE, Spring Framework
- JSON, XML
- Maven, OpenAPI v3
- Java Server Pages (JSP), Struts
- Integration of web services into Angular or React SPAs
- Development of reusable, testable modules/components
- Experience with JEE Application Servers and caching strategies
