About the Role
We are seeking a highly senior Enterprise Architect / Distinguished Engineer with 15+ years of hands-on engineering experience across multiple technical domains including application development, infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and data.
This role is risk-driven, focusing on identifying and remediating architectural risk vectors in collaboration with InfoSec, Risk, and Control teams, while ensuring regulatory and audit readiness is embedded from inception.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex enterprise-wide architecture and technical design across platforms (cloud-native, distributed, event-driven).
- Drive risk-driven engineering, identifying and remediating architectural risk vectors with InfoSec, Risk, and Control partners.
- Partner with CTO, CISO, Risk, and Architecture leadership to influence direction and ensure compliance from day one.
- Shape and champion secure-by-design practices and frameworks enterprise-wide.
- Embed engineering standards, observability, and resilience into service delivery.
- Represent Architecture in governance, design review boards, and strategy sessions.
- Influence technical policies and accelerate modernization initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 15+ years of hands-on engineering experience across multiple technical domains.
- Proven leadership as a Distinguished Engineer, Enterprise Architect, Principal Engineer, Staff Engineer, or Fellow in a Fortune 500 or large-scale financial institution (> $100B assets).
- Deep expertise in regulatory frameworks: OCC, FFIEC, SOX, GLBA.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, MITRE ATT&CK, COBIT, TOGAF, SABSA.
- Expert coding skills in Python, C#, Golang.
- Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud Platform.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with regulators and senior technology/risk executives.
- Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in large, regulated financial environments.
- Published whitepapers, patents, or contributions to open-source projects.
- Strong presentation skills to simplify technical complexity for C-suite audiences.
