Network Engineer with DOCSIS

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce is immediately seeking an experienced Network Engineer with DOCSIS in support of our enterprise telecommunications and mass media client based in Englewood, CO.

Responsibilities:
* Destructive Testing: Push systems to failure to identify design flaws or limitations before deployment; Document fixes and create detailed field resolution procedures
* Regression Testing: Ensure that new code releases are backward compatible and do not degrade performance; Test and compare against prior versions for optimal performance
* Integration Testing: Validate end-to-end service delivery across CMTS platforms supporting bundled services (internet, voice, video, mobile)
* Create detailed test reports, -how-to- documents, and implementation guides for code upgrades/downgrades and feature enablement
* Review and test new code releases, document test results, participate in bug scrubs, and work cross-functionally to resolve issues
* Collaborate with software, hardware, and network teams to verify functionality and network performance
* Utilize network testing tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot issues across protocols and hardware platforms

REQUIREMENTS:
* Hands-on experience with DOCSIS technologies and CMTS platforms (Arris Cadant & E6000, Cisco UBR 10K and CBR)
* Proven experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco and Juniper routers/switches
* Experience with data center infrastructure and cloud computing environments
* Strong understanding of IPv4 and IPv6 networking
* Solid background in Linux (CentOS preferred) for network testing and automation tasks
* Deep knowledge of networking fundamentals: QoS, NAT, ACLs, IPSEC
* Proficiency with key protocols: TCP/IP, UDP, SNMP, SIP, TFTP, DNS, DHCP, RIP, OSPF, BGP
* Familiarity with network analysis tools: ping, traceroute, Wireshark, tcpdump, SIPp
* Excellent communication and documentation skills; Ability to translate technical findings into operational guidance

Preferred Skills:
* Experience with Bash scripting for automation or testing workflows
* Familiarity with Postman or REST API validation
* Experience with Intel and Broadcom chipset CLI debugging is a significant plus
* Ability to interpret low-level chipset logs and hardware behaviors for issue resolution

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
