Myticas' direct client, based in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a Environmental Engineer for a 100% contract position.

Hiring Manager NOTE: Work schedule is 37.5 hours per week for an indefinite period of time. Candidate must be available to work during state office hours 8:15am - 4:45pm EST. Please confirm the you understands the work schedule and engagement duration.

Job Summary:
The Environmental Engineer conducts plan reviews and related work to determine compliance with applicable laws, rules, and standards in conformance with the mission and vision of the Indiana Department of Health to protect public health in the construction and operation of health care facilities and other structures that require plan review and approval. Emphasis is on applying architectural and engineering standards, safety, sanitation, water supply, sewage disposal, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and state licensing requirements as applicable for facilities located in Indiana requiring State approval.

Resource will be responsible for prompt responses back to the general public, consultants, contractors and the regulated community.

Key Responsibilities:
Core Technical Knowledge (Required)

  • 1+ year experience reading blueprints/plans, analyzing data, and recommending action plans
  • Working knowledge of:
  1. Environmental engineering laws, rules, and technical guidelines
  2. On-site sewage disposal and sanitation policies
  3. Public health science and environmental health principles
  4. Soil science and applied mathematics
  5. FGI healthcare facility design guidelines (hospitals, outpatient, residential)
  6. NFPA codes and standards
Education & Certification:
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering or related field (Required)
  • Indiana Professional Engineering License (Nice to have)
