Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly skilled Packaging Production Designer to join our team on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will transform creative concepts into precise, production-ready files while adhering to brand guidelines, regulatory requirements, and retailer specifications. Based in Atlanta, Georgia, this position offers the opportunity to work on diverse packaging projects for products sold in major retail outlets and online platforms.
Responsibilities:
Prepare accurate, press-ready packaging files suitable for various printing methods such as flexographic, lithographic, and digital processes.
Convert creative designs and dielines into production artwork, ensuring consistency and quality across all packaging formats.
Collaborate closely with design, marketing, product teams, and print vendors to ensure projects meet technical requirements and deadlines.
Ensure all packaging complies with regulatory standards and retailer-specific guidelines, including proper labeling and legal disclaimers.
Organize and maintain version control and archiving of packaging assets to ensure easy accessibility and accuracy.
Conduct thorough proofreading and preflight checks to eliminate errors before submitting artwork to printers or retailers.
Review print proofs and perform quality checks in collaboration with vendors to ensure the final product meets expectations.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience in packaging production design or a related field.
Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.
Strong understanding of prepress and print production processes.
Hands-on experience with dielines, barcodes, and compliance markings for packaging.
Familiarity with packaging specifications for major retailers such as Amazon, Walmart, and Target.
Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Experience with structural packaging design or 3D mockups is an advantage.
