We are seeking a Software Solutions Architect to join our team. This role will involve leading the design, modernization, and integration of enterprise applications while supporting cloud and on-premise systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in Azure Cloud Architecture, .NET Core, Enterprise Application Design, Web Services/API Development, Oracle/SQL Server connectivity, and modernization of legacy systems, along with a passion for building scalable, secure, and high-performing technology solutions.

Job Title: Software Solutions Architect
Location: Lansing, MI (Hybrid Onsite 2 days/week starting Day 1)
Duration: 1-Year Contract (Extension Likely)
Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Software Solutions Architect to support large-scale enterprise application initiatives within a hybrid work environment. The architect will define system architecture, guide development teams, and lead modernization efforts across cloud, web, and legacy platforms.

Responsibilities include:

  • Designing scalable and secure application architectures aligned with organizational standards

  • Leading modernization efforts for legacy VB6 and .NET Windows Forms applications

  • Building and optimizing modern applications using .NET Core and Entity Framework Core

  • Architecting solutions using Microsoft Azure Cloud Services

  • Designing and implementing RESTful APIs and SOAP web services

  • Integrating applications with Oracle and SQL Server databases

  • Utilizing JSON Serialization for efficient data exchange

  • Providing architectural guidance, technical documentation, and best practices

  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams in Agile development environments

  • Supporting CI/CD practices using Git or Azure DevOps (preferred)

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Software/Application/Enterprise Architect

  • Expertise in Azure Cloud Services & Architecture

  • Strong proficiency with .NET Core and Entity Framework Core

  • Experience designing and consuming Web Services (REST/SOAP)

  • Proficiency in application integration with Oracle & SQL Server

  • Familiarity with VB6 and Windows Forms legacy applications

  • Strong understanding of JSON Serialization

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred)

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with Agile methodologies

  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Git or Azure DevOps

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
