Business Data Analyst - Austin, TX - 20% Remote - Long-Term
iSphere is looking for a Business Data Analyst who can do more than crunch numbers you ll be helping bridge the gap between raw data, business objectives, and technology solutions. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on turning complex, data-driven problems into clear, actionable requirements and collaborating across business and technical teams.
This is a long-term role with 20% onsite in Austin. If you re passionate about data analysis, requirements gathering, and improving processes with measurable business impact, we d love to hear from you.
What You ll Be Doing

Analyze existing business requirements, data flows, and system pain points to inform enhancements and new solutions.

Elicit and write comprehensive business requirements, turning complex needs into actionable Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria.

Work closely with stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to align business objectives with system capabilities.

Document current state processes and identify opportunities for process and system improvements.

Facilitate workshops, interviews, and discussions to gather information and drive alignment.

Create and maintain data-related documentation including data dictionaries, mapping specs, and requirement documents.

Build and present visual data models and dashboards to communicate project timelines, trends, and performance.

Lead data-focused meetings, document outcomes, and help drive issue resolution.
What You Bring to the Table

13+ years of hands-on experience as a Business Data Analyst in IT.

Proven ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams, analyzing complex data-driven problems and recommending solutions.

10+ years of experience designing and optimizing data workflows and processes using modeling/mapping tools.

Strong skills writing Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria to communicate requirements to dev and QA teams.

8+ years of experience building and maintaining data-related documentation and creating visual data models/dashboards.

Experience leading data-focused workshops, meetings, and interviews to drive clarity and alignment.
Bonus Points

Bachelor s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or equivalent experience.

Experience juggling multiple concurrent data projects with strong multi-tasking skills.
