Power Plant Operator
Location: Colorado Springs, CO (100% On-Site)
Shift: 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM (Overnight Shift)
Pay: Starting at $30+/hr, depending on experience

We are looking for a dependable and skilled Power Plant Operator to join our team in Colorado Springs, supporting overnight operations of a power generation facility. In this critical role, you’ll be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining essential systems that ensure the safe and efficient flow of energy.
This is a hands-on, high-responsibility position suited for individuals with strong mechanical aptitude who thrive in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor boilers, turbines, generators, and associated equipment
- Adjust controls to regulate power output and manage system flow
- Monitor meters, gauges, and control boards to ensure optimal performance and identify potential issues
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment
- Diagnose system malfunctions and coordinate or perform necessary repairs
- Maintain accurate operational logs and records of meter readings, performance, and repairs
- Respond to equipment alarms and operational disturbances promptly and safely
- Collaborate with maintenance and engineering teams to address and resolve technical issues
- Follow all safety protocols, regulations, and operational procedures to ensure a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of experience in power plant, utility, or mechanical system operations (5+ years preferred)
- High school diploma or GED required
- Universal EPA Certification (must be obtained within 6 months of hire)
- Stationary Engineer Certificate (must be obtained within 30 months of hire; training provided)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and demonstrated ability to safely operate complex mechanical systems
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical documents, schematics, and system manuals
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently on overnight shifts
- Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
