Job Details

Job Title: Systems Engineer
Location: New York, NY(On-Site)
Employer Type: Contract to Hire (6 Months)

The client prefers candidates with established local presence.

Note: This opportunity is open to candidates with permanent resident OR U.S. work authorization.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor s degree in computer science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Deep expertise with Linux systems administration, especially Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or similar
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, or Salt Stack
  • Understanding of TCP/IP networking fundamentals
  • Strong familiarity with version control systems, preferably Git
  • Knowledge of systems monitoring, alerting, and log analysis tools
  • Proven experience in change management, release orchestration, and deployment strategies
  • Comfortable managing performance, availability, and capacity in production systems
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks independently in a dynamic environment
  • Open-source mindset and exposure to collaborative development practices
