How you'll make an impact:
The Enterprise Network & Security team at SiriusXM builds and operates the enterprise facing infrastructure that delivers interconnectivity for SiriusXM employees and partners. The team is looking for a Sr. Network Engineer to support and deliver quality network technologies & concepts to our enterprise environment. The successful candidate will leverage many of the network & security tools currently in place and additionally research and deploy new tools to meet industry standards. In addition, the Sr. Network Engineer will provide additional support and knowledge to the overall Network Engineering organization on projects and campus buildouts.

What you'll do:
  • Design, deploy, operate, and optimize network infrastructure from our campus networks to the enterprise networks at our data centers.
  • Triage, diagnose, and debug network issues across our responsible areas such as: routing/switching, wireless, firewalls, load balancers.
  • Drive automation efforts towards a "Configuration as Code" paradigm.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to software and systems engineers as well as technical support teams as needed.
  • Learn and teach skills and techniques within the production networking team and cross-functionally.
  • Engage in creating documentation and keeping existing documentation up-to-date.
  • Continuously advance standards and practices in collaboration with other engineers

What you'll need:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or in a related field
  • 5+ years experience working on enterprise network environments
  • Good public speaking and presentation skills.
  • Interpersonal skills and ability to interact and work with staff at all levels. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment. Ability to pay attention to details and be organized.
  • Ability to project professionalism over the phone and in person. Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to "internal client" and customer service principles. Willingness to take initiative and to follow through on projects. Creative writing ability.
  • Thorough knowledge of Google Workplace, LucidChart/Visio and MS-Office Suite
  • Excellent time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and multi-task, and work under shifting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience implementing, maintaining, and supporting campus network environments.
  • Deep understanding of and experience working with IP networking fundamentals TCP, UDP, IPv4, IPv6 Experience working with Cisco, Arista, Palo Alto, F5, Juniper, etc. hardware platforms.
  • Experience in setup and maintaining wireless networks including authentication concepts via 802.1x and RADIUS. Advanced knowledge of network protocols like BGP, OSPF, VXLAN, EVPN, DMVPN, IP Multicast, SD-WAN.
  • Experience with L2/L3 switching architecture design, VLANs, VPC, MLAG, HSRP, GLBP, VRRP, LACP, STP, RSTP, VTP, QoS, ACLs.
  • In-depth knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, Palo Alto GlobalProtect VPN, with experience with Cisco ASA firewalls, Cisco AnyConnect, and site to site VPN technologies
  • Proficient with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools like Sniffer, Wireshark, Syslog, NetFlow. Experience in OpenNMS, Solarwinds, or Datadog a plus
  • Experience automating network devices with tools like Python, Ansible, Terraform, Go, etc. Self-disciplined, self-starter who can work on complex project involving multiple teams.
  • Experience with zero-trust security using Aruba ClearPass or Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
  • Ability to take ownership and responsibility of critical issues and conclude them to resolution.
  • Provide operational support for issues that are escalated and participate in on-call support on a rotational basis.
  • Must have legal right to work in the U.S.

At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience. These considerations can cause your compensation to vary. We expect the base salary for this position to be inthe range of $144,200 to $153,900and will depend on your skills, qualifications, and experience. Additionally, this role might be eligible for discretionary short-term and long-term incentives. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
