Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Desktop Engineer to join our IT team. This role is responsible for managing and maintaining desktop and thin client environments, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability across a diverse hardware and software landscape. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Windows-based systems, imaging tools, endpoint management platforms, and deep troubleshooting capabilities-including expertise in managing Unified Write Filters on Dell and HP thin clients, and familiarity with Citrix Workspace and Virtual Desktop Technology on Windows IoT. Key Responsibilities Hardware Management Administer and support Dell Precision Desktops (Windows 10) Microsoft Surface Books Dell Wyse Windows 10 IoT Thin Clients HP T Series Windows 10 IoT Thin Clients Software & Imaging Utilize Dell WMS and HPDM for thin client software deployment and OS updates Use PXE/WDS for imaging physical devices Manage endpoint configuration, patching, and software distribution using Tanium, WMS & HPDM Utilities & Scripting Employ SysInternals tools (e.g., Process Explorer, Process Monitor) for diagnostics and performance analysis Use PowerShell and Windows Command Shell for scripting, automation, and system management Technical Operations Perform OS updates, upgrades, and image deployments for Dell & HP Thin Clients, Surface Books, and Dell Desktops Configure and manage Unified Write Filters (UWF) on Dell and HP Thin Clients Support Citrix Workspace and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) on Windows IoT Thin Clients Maintain accurate inventory reporting for all desktop and thin client assets Troubleshoot complex hardware/software issues with a deep-dive approach Ensure PXE boot environments are properly configured and maintained Create and maintain detailed technical documentation for processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps
