WHO YOU ARE

As an IT Change and Release Manager, you are responsible for overseeing the entire lifecycle of application changes for Information Security, from planning and risk assessment to deployment and post-implementation review, ensuring smooth updates to critical systems while minimizing disruption to business operations, by collaborating closely with development, testing, and infrastructure teams while adhering to compliance standards.

Furthermore:
  • You bring 7+ years of experience in IT service transition.
  • You have a bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • You have a combination of technical, business, and interpersonal skills and competencies.

IT Change and Release Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Change Management:
    • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Conduct thorough impact assessments for proposed major changes, identifying potential risks and mitigation plans.
    • Manage issues and risks during the change window and escalate to stakeholders as needed.
    • Provide governance and oversight for emergency and high-priority changes to ensure expedited resolution without compromising controls.

  • Release Management:
    • Create comprehensive release plans, including scheduling, dependencies, and communication strategies for application deployments.
    • Manage release windows, coordinating with development, testing, and infrastructure teams to ensure readiness for production deployment.
    • Conduct Release Readiness Reviews and Go/No-Go reviews to assess the quality and readiness of releases.
    • Manage issues and risks during the change window and escalate to stakeholders as needed.
    • Conduct retrospectives after releases to address any issues and ensure closure of action items.

  • Collaboration and Communication:
    • Act as primary liaison between IT teams, business units, and external vendors for change and release activities
    • Communicate the impact of changes and releases to technical and non-technical stakeholders, ensuring clear understanding and alignment.
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand requirements and prioritize application changes.
    • Facilitate communication between technical teams and business users throughout the change and release process.
    • Provide clear and timely status updates on release progress to key stakeholders.

  • Process Improvement:
    • Continuously evaluate and optimize release management processes to improve efficiency and reduce risks.
    • Identify opportunities for automation within the change and release lifecycle.
    • Monitor release metrics and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.

Salary Range:
$114,700 - 194,900 USD

Salary range is a good faith estimate of base pay. Northern Trust provides a comprehensive benefits package including retirement benefits (401k and pension), health and welfare benefits (medical, dental, vision, spending accounts and disability), paid time off, parental and caregiver leave, life & accident insurance, and other voluntary and well-being benefits. Northern Trust also provides a discretionary bonus program that may include an equity component.
