Job Details

We are seeking an experienced Healthcare Solutions Architect with strong expertise in Hospital Management Systems (HMS), EHR/EMR platforms (including Epic), and healthcare interoperability standards. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing scalable, secure, and compliant healthcare technology solutions that enable digital transformation, system integration, and improved patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architecture & Design

    • Lead the end-to-end architecture and design of healthcare applications, integrations, and data platforms.

    • Develop target-state architectures for hospital management systems, EHR/EMR platforms, and supporting applications.

    • Define system integration patterns across clinical, billing, and administrative systems.

  • EHR/EMR Expertise

    • Provide architectural guidance on Epic and other EHR/EMR solutions (Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech, etc.).

    • Support system upgrades, migrations, and new module implementations.

    • Design workflows to optimize clinical and operational efficiency.

  • Integration & Interoperability

    • Architect solutions using interoperability standards such as HL7, FHIR, CCD, CDA, X12, IHE.

    • Design data exchange frameworks between EHRs, hospital systems, payers, labs, pharmacies, and external partners.

  • Compliance & Security

    • Ensure all solutions meet HIPAA, HITECH, and other regulatory compliance standards.

    • Apply best practices for patient data security, privacy, and access controls.

  • Collaboration & Leadership

    • Partner with business stakeholders, clinicians, and IT teams to gather requirements and translate them into scalable solutions.

    • Mentor engineering teams on healthcare IT architecture and integration best practices.

    • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers on solution design and implementation.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor s or Master s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

  • Experience:

    • 8+ years in healthcare IT with at least 5 years in architecture roles.

    • Hands-on experience with Epic (certifications preferred: Epic Bridges, EpicCare, or others).

    • Strong background in other EHR/EMR systems (Cerner, Allscripts, Meditech, etc.).

    • Proven expertise in hospital management systems clinical, administrative, and financial modules.

  • Technical Skills:

    • Integration: HL7, FHIR, CDA, CCD, X12, APIs, web services.

    • Cloud: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform healthcare cloud services.

    • Data: SQL/NoSQL, Data Lakes, ETL, healthcare data warehousing.

    • Security: HIPAA, HITRUST, SOC 2 compliance frameworks.

  • Soft Skills: Strong communication, stakeholder engagement, leadership, and ability to operate in complex healthcare environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Epic certifications (Bridges, Chronicles, Clarity, or other relevant modules).

  • Experience in population health, care management, or value-based care technology.

  • Knowledge of healthcare analytics and AI/ML use cases.

  • Prior experience working with payers and providers.
