Sr. Data Operations Engineer

A nationwide leader in the distribution of natural gas is looking to expand some critical software engineering teams internally here in ATL- specifically in the data engineering and data operations realm. The company serves roughly 5 million customers in the utilities space throughout the southeast, and some parts of the midwest. These are long-term contract positions with the possibility to conversion.

In this role- you will be responsible for ingesting, sanitizing, and optimizing data that will be imperative for internal stakeholders to make critical decisions. Your work will be at the forefront of decision making processes that effect not only the lives of millions of people, but also the economy as a whole. This DataOps hire will be the first hire of the sort within this department- and you will play a key role in driving innovative solutions in the Data Operations space. Required Skills & Experience

• Ability to build and optimize data ingestion pipelines/platforms
• Extensive experience with developing custom solutions
• Significant architecture/design experience
• Expertise in automating manual tasks in the development and infrastructure space
• ETL pipeline experience
• Experience with Azure, Azure DevOps, ARM Templates, and Datafactory/Databricks

Desired Skills & Experience

• Previous experience within the utility space
• Effective in interfacing with stakeholders
• Previous experience in building a DataOps culture

• 20% Design/Architecture of custom solutions
