Position Description:
Seeking an experienced and highly motivated candidate to support a government contract focused on Tactical Signatures Guidance (TSG) systems for the U.S. Navy. This position will play a critical role in advancing the Navy's capabilities in shallow, littoral environments and addressing the challenges posed by quiet diesel and nuclear submarines. The SME will contribute to the development, integration, testing, and evaluation of advanced acoustic systems, including the Sonar Tactical Decision Aid for Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (STDA-I) embedded in the Integrated Common Processor (ICP).
Key Responsibilities:
Test and Evaluation Support:

Develop and execute test plans and procedures to evaluate TSG systems.

Perform verification and validation of developed products to ensure end-user satisfaction.
Software Integration and Testing:
-
Provide onsite and offsite software integration and testing support.

Demonstrate that Signature Guidance products meet specified performance and interface requirements.
Graphical User Interfaces (GUIs):
-
Investigate, recommend, and design GUI(s) to enhance Signature Guidance products.
Collaboration:
-
Work closely with government customers, internal engineers, and external industry partners to coordinate ASW Tactical Decision Aid development.

Track sponsor tasking and collaborate on future sponsor requirements.
Focus Area:
The SME will focus on the Sonar Tactical Decision Aid for Integrated Undersea Surveillance System (STDA-I), which provides signature guidance and recommendations to fleet operators as part of the Improved Common Processor (ICP) Sonar System. STDA-I supports mission planning, in-situ passive and active sonar processing performance, and line-up recommendations for Fixed, Towed, and Deployable sensors.
About the Program:
The Tactical Signatures Guidance (TSG) and associated training systems provide signature guidance for tactical oceanography and fleet understanding of signature content. NSWCCD manages Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to coordinate efforts across NSWCCD, prime contractors, and partnering organizations to support coordinated system development, integration, testing, and installations of procured software and systems.
Requirements & Desired Qualifications:
Required:

U.S. Citizenship and eligibility to obtain a U.S. Government-granted security clearance (employment contingent on receiving an interim Secret clearance).

Ten years of fleet operational experience (shore or SURTASS) directly related to ASW operations, systems, and theory.

Experience with Integrated Undersea Surveillance Systems (IUSS), operations, and theory.

Subject matter expertise in ASW Sonar system operations.

Ability to learn and apply new skills while sharing expertise with the team to improve development capabilities.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication and ability to work well in a team environment.

Experience in program support, software development/testing, configuration management, and/or technical writing.
Desired:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited educational institution in Mathematics, Physics, Acoustics, or Engineering.
Location:
Bethesda, MD with off-site support primarily in Manassas, VA

Additional Compensation:
