Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst with expertise to bridge the gap between business needs and technology solutions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory compliance (HIPAA, SOX, FINRA), data analysis, and process optimization across these industries. You will work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze workflows, and design solutions that improve operational efficiency and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct stakeholder interviews to document business needs in financial services (banking, insurance, fintech) and healthcare (payers, providers, pharma).
  • Analyze clinical, financial, and operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
  • Translate regulatory requirements (HIPAA, GDPR, SOX, PCI-DSS) into functional specifications.
  • Map AS-IS and TO-BE processes using BPMN/UML for systems like:
  • Healthcare: EHR/EMR (Epic, Cerner), claims processing (HL7, FHIR)
  • Finance: Core banking, risk management, payment processing (SWIFT, NACHA)
  • Define user stories, use cases, and acceptance criteria for Agile/Waterfall projects.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to design data integrations (EDI, APIs), reporting dashboards (Power BI, Tableau), and workflow automations (RPA).
  • Validate solutions against compliance frameworks (HITRUST, NIST, Basel III).
  • Lead UAT sessions with business users and document test scenarios.
  • Understand healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) and financial risk modeling.
  • Identify synergies between healthcare analytics (population health) and financial analytics (fraud detection).

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • 11+ years as a Business Analyst
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare standards (HIPAA, HL7/FHIR, EHR systems)
  • Solid understanding of financial regulations (SOX, Basel III, AML/KYC)
  • Experience with SQL for data analysis and reporting
  • Proficiency in process modeling using Visio or Lucidchart
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools like Jira
  • Ability to translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Exposure to AI/ML use cases in both domains (predictive analytics, NLP for clinical notes).
  • Certifications preferred: CBAP, FHIR Proficiency, FRM, or CFA.
