Job Details
C-HIT is looking for an experienced proposal writer to join our business development and capture teams. The proposal writer creatively presents complex approaches in written and oral proposals for C-HIT clients. The successful candidate plays a vital role in presenting technical, management, past performance, and resume/staffing solutions for business operations, systems integrations, and IT consulting services.
Responsibilities:
- Supports the capture and proposal process by researching and gathering information for use in proposal development activities.
- Applies interpersonal and interviewing skills to gather needed information from C-HIT staff and teammates/partners to support writing activities.
- Interviews program managers and technical personnel to craft sections of proposals related to technical approach, management processes, corporate experience, and past performance.
- Organizes material and completes writing assignments according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style, and terminology.
- Researches and collaborates with C-HIT technical and business professionals on the most effective way to present proposed approaches and solutions and substantiate any claims.
- Supports the development of white papers and case studies, as well as responses to requests for information (RFIs) and sources sought notices (SSNs).
- Edits, standardizes, or makes changes to material prepared by others in order to deliver compelling written proposal sections and artifacts.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of five years working as a writer/editor in the federal proposal environment.
- 4-year degree in a related field (e.g. English, Journalism, Business Writing, etc.) or equivalent work experience in a Federal Government proposal environment
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a team on various tasks
- Skilled at organizing and translating information into clear written documentation; articulating complex concepts and processes in writing
- Proven ability to effectively conduct research and interview subject matter experts
- Experience working in a collaborative environment; ability to work well under tight deadlines and effectively interact with a wide range of personnel
- Excellent interpersonal and verbal/written language communication skills
- Strong knowledge of the Microsoft product suite, with excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, and MS Project
- Ability to work flexible working hours needed for proposal preparation, including extended hours, evening/night hours, weekends, and holidays
Preferred Qualifications:
- Project/business management or IT experience
- Experience in understanding and writing about emerging technologies, cloud, and digital support services concepts for proposals, white papers, blogs, and case studies
- Experience working in the technical support services and/or Health IT industry
