The ERP Services IT organization is responsible for providing solutions for SAP and SAP-integrated systems, enabling financial business processes and supply chain management.A key role within that organization is the System Engineer. The ERP Services organization has a role within the functional area of SAP Finance, specifically General Accounting. The role is an SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) System Engineer.

What You Will Be Doing:

Working as part of the global SAP GA team, a SAC System Engineer is responsible for understanding, guiding, and supporting the business area and helping shape their future using SAC technology and associated integrations with SAP S/4Hana aligned to the financial strategy for Data.

The SAC System Engineer is responsible for the day-to-day support of technical operations and collaborating, guiding, and assisting in the delivery of new functionality in SAP Analytics Cloud space of ERP Services, V&C area specific to business processes supporting Planning, Forecasting and Reporting. This includes working closely with key business partners, third party vendors and aligning key Lilly processes across the organization to accomplish strategic direction.

  • Provide support through troubleshooting, problem solving SAC technical issues on a day-to-day operational basis.
  • Understand SAC upgrades and updates, this includes assessing the impact to Lilly's use of SAC, coordinating regression testing, and ensuring that customizations and configurations are not impacted.
  • Become a technical subject matter expert of SAC and support the development of evolving global design in Planning, Forecasting and Reporting (PFR) as it relates to SAC functionality.
  • Partner with IT Business Process Architects and Business Partners to support future state business processes and technologies to accomplish short, and long-term business goals.
  • Work with key business partners and other IT business process consultants to identify business problems and evolve the global solution, using SAC to meet the business needs most effectively.
  • Work with business process owners, other functional Business Integrators, as well as Enterprise Architecture groups on cross functional issues. Act as a liaison between IT and business partners on projects.
  • Liaise back with software vendor on support escalations.


Your Basic Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, management information systems, information technology or related technical field
  • 2 years of applied understanding of SAP SAC
  • 3 years of applied understanding of SAP FICO


What You Should Bring:
  • Technical knowledge of: SAP Analytics Cloud, SAC Planning, S/4HANA Analytics, SAP Data sphere (Data Warehouse Cloud - DWC)
  • Good knowledge of at least one of the SAP data warehousing solutions likeSAP BW/4HANA or SAP HANA (esp. HANA Cloud or HANA 2.0)for both modelling and scripting including ability to write complex stored procedures. High level knowledge of various replication methods to HANA or BW/BI.
  • Architectural knowledge of deployment modes of various SAP Analytics solutions (Cloud, On-Premises, Hybrid).
  • Understanding of SQL, ETL process, Tableau and A40 Demonstrated strong technical learning agility.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of latest trends in Analytics space including platforms and solutions from other vendors.


Additional Information:
  • Up to 10% US & OUS travel could be required.
  • Global Role could be based in Indianapolis, IN or UK
  • Full time day shift position. Occasional off hours and weekend work is expected as this position serves a global organization.
