Mechanical Engineer

Title – Mechanical Engineer

Location – Huntsville, Alabama

Must have skills:

• Solidworks

• PDM Vault
• Knowledge of off-highway vehicles & Sheetmetal design
• ECN/ECR

Responsibilities:

• 7 years relevant experience is mandatory

•Understanding the engineering change request from Schwarze Project/Product Manager

•Evaluate the design changes required and impact on other systems and sub-systems.

•Design Modification in CAD as necessary

•2D Drawing updates.

•Prepare Change Notice Package on PLM tool (Vault)

•Champion and ensure compliance of Schwarze engineering processes and ISO requirements.

•Team up with cross functional teams to resolve & prioritized ECR issues in a timely manner.

KNOWLEDGE AND CRITICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:

•Strong knowledge in product design methodologies; from common product platform, CAD product architecture, system level designs, DFM/DFA, DFMEA, risk mitigations, COGS to product safety

•Strong experience and troubleshooting skills of hydraulic systems and Fluid Power systems.

•Good understanding of drive line and drive train system

•Solid understanding of stress analysis (classical methods and FEA), bolted joints, welded structures, fatigue analysis, bending moment & shear force analysis.

•Very high degree of accountability to commitments and the business objectives

•Ability to communicate both written and orally with all levels of employees and outside representatives. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.

•Proficient in SolidWorks, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other software/applications.
