We are seeking to hire a Performance Automation Testting Engineer with Active DoD Secret Clearance to join our team working on a multi-year award we have within a Federal Gov t Agency, located in Annapolis Junction, MD. This role is 40% onsite (2 days per week).
Per our contract with the Federal Government, being a US Cit only and having an ACTIVE Secret level Security Clearance is required for working on this project.
This position pays a strong salary package with full benefits (including choice of healthcare plans, dental, vision, life insurance, 3 weeks PTO, 11 Paid Federal Holidays, and a matching 401k).
An option for working on an hourly rate is also available for those not needing a full benefits package.

Role Description:
The Performance Automation Engineer will support efforts to validate the solution design by testing the application against performance requirements. They will support the test leads by creating detailed performance test tasks for the work plan and providing accurate status and artifacts for these tasks. Must be familiar with test automation framework, java deployment technologies, and testing process and quality improvement.
Additionally, the Performance Automation Engineer will enable full stack solutions through multi-disciplinary team planning and ecosystem integration to accelerate delivery and drive quality across the application lifecycle. Performs continuous testing for security, API, and regression suite. Creates automation strategy, automated scripts and supports data and environment configuration for performance testing. Participates in code reviews, monitors, and reports defects to support continuous improvement activities for the end-to-end testing process.
Job responsibilities:
- Work closely with developers, professional services team, product managers, architects and release managers to define and lead the automated testing components that will be used to validate requirements for performance testing.
- Supports Test Lead in upward stakeholder management, status report development, metrics, etc.
- Creates performance test approach and strategy from system requirements and design documents
- Establishes verifiable performance benchmarks for system and system components
- Assists in identifying clear performance requirements / measurement criteria from poorly defined metrics
- Manages effort of automating the performance/load test scripts
- Communicates any testing issues and/or risks to Test Lead in a timely fashion
- Communicate effectively with architecture, design, and development teams to learn system and resolve defects
Minimum requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in Software Testing Field, working with and supporting the development of an overall test plan and tailored test plans for each release
- Experience in Performance Test using performance test tools (HP Load Runner, IBM Rational Performance Tester, Load Impact, Load Test, etc.)
- Experience with Serenity and/or Cucumber
- Experience with Functional Testing, Integration Testing, System Testing, and User Acceptance Testing phases
- Possess a Final DoD Secret Security Clearance
- Ability to report to the client site 2-3x a week
Preferred skills and experience:
- Prior experience in Agile delivery
