Looker Architect

• Lead the Looker architecture design and best practices across projects., Architect - has to be Also provide training , project scoping etc.(Must Have skills)
• Define the enterprise-level BI and Looker strategy for UMG's data platform.
• Architect scalable LookML models, data layers, and semantic layers.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize data pipelines and schemas for Looker consumption.
• Review and enforce LookML coding standards, naming conventions, and folder structures.
• Guide developers in designing efficient dashboards and explore experiences.
• Set up and manage Looker s security model, including user access, groups, and row-level permissions.
• Lead efforts to migrate legacy BI platforms to Looker (if applicable).
• Evaluate and recommend third-party tools or custom plugins to extend Looker capabilities.
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years of Looker architecture and development experience.
• Strong expertise in LookML, SQL, and cloud data warehouses (BigQuery preferred).
• Deep understanding of dimensional modeling, semantic layers, and BI governance.
• Experience working with large-scale datasets and optimizing Looker performance.
• Ability to design and lead BI projects end-to-end.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience with CI/CD for LookML, Git, and deployment automation is a plus.
