Job Details

Job role : Palo Alto Engineer

Remote role

Duration : 6 + Months contract

Planning Phase

  • Design Workshops: Participate in workshop design sessions with the customer to create the Palo Alto/vWAN deployment design
  • Low-Level Design: Develop detailed network deployment documentation including Palo Alto NGFW integration with Azure vWAN

Implementation Phase

  • Azure Resource Setup: Create and configure Azure resources needed to support the Palo Alto appliances
  • NGFW Deployment: Implement Palo Alto Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) in the Azure environment
  • vWAN Integration: Deploy and configure Azure vWAN connectivity with Palo Alto integration
  • Routing Configuration: Configure North-South (N-S) and East-West (E-W) routing through the firewall infrastructure
  • ExpressRoute Integration: Configure Palo Alto to connect to Azure through ExpressRoute vWAN design (extending existing on-premises Palo Alto deployment)

Validation Phase

  • Firewall Policy Testing: Test firewall policies as implemented by the client
  • Routing Validation: Test routing of the environment through the firewalls
  • High Availability Testing: Test HA design implementation (if deployed)

Deployment Phase

  • Network Handover: Perform administrative handover of the network infrastructure
  • Management Training: Review administrative processes for managing the network appliances

Key Technical Requirements

  • Extend existing on-premises Palo Alto deployment to Azure cloud
  • Provide routing, firewalling, and secure access to Azure environment over private connection
  • Address external access security requirements
  • Ensure seamless integration with Azure Enterprise Scale Landing Zone architecture

The Palo Alto engineer will work closely with Azure architects to ensure the firewall solution integrates properly with the overall landing zone design and supports the client's migration objectives
