Site Operations & Technical Oversight
- Escort vendors and personnel within secure data center spaces.
- Oversee technical activities during escorting to ensure work aligns with approved tasks.
- Communicate with internal teams and stakeholders through phone, messaging platforms, and collaboration tools.
- Join incident troubleshooting sessions and project planning meetings.
- Escalate incidents, outages, or failed changes to appropriate leadership channels.
Access Management
- Review, approve, and track site access requests.
- Vet and authorize visitor access based on security policies.
- Interface with third-party service providers and vendors as needed.
Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate records of all activities performed.
- Provide ad hoc reports and contribute to process improvement projects.
- Log daily handover notes and track all active work in secure areas.
Change & Incident Management
- Execute tasks in compliance with change and incident processes.
- Perform pre- and post-validation of work to ensure success and adherence to procedures.
- Contribute to root cause analysis for incidents or failed tasks.
Inventory Management
- Conduct regular asset tagging, audits, and physical inspections of IT equipment.
- Record detailed device information including location, serials, and cabling data.
- Maintain up-to-date inventory systems and support internal/external audits.
Shipping & Receiving
- Manage inbound and outbound shipments including documentation, tracking, and delivery coordination.
- Maintain an organized storage area and ensure proper labeling and inventory of all items.
- Enforce property removal procedures and handle return materials authorizations (RMAs).
Media Handling
- Mount, catalog, track, and ship physical media.
- Maintain inventory and ensure secure handling and destruction protocols are followed.
- Coordinate with offsite media vaulting providers.
Hands-On Support
- Physically power down or reset equipment using 4-eyes safety protocols.
- Assist in installing/removing racks and devices.
- Support basic device setup, serial number validation, and visual inspections.
- Perform light troubleshooting and relay technical observations to remote support teams.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong communication and organizational skills (written and verbal)
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, Visio, and email systems
- Familiar with IT hardware such as servers, switches, storage, and rack-mounted systems
- Understanding of data center protocols, networking, and disaster recovery processes
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable using pallet jacks/forklifts and handling shipping/receiving logistics
