About the role:
As a Linux Administrator intern you will help ensure the stability, security, and performance of Linux servers. The Linux Administrator intern collaborates with the IT team to handle Linux-based infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to users.
You will report to the Linux Services Manager and be located at our Cranberry location. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer.

About the role:
As a Linux Administrator intern you will help ensure the stability, security, and performance of Linux servers. The Linux Administrator intern collaborates with the IT team to handle Linux-based infrastructure, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support to users.
You will report to the Linux Services Manager and be located at our Cranberry location. This is a paid full-time hybrid position for the summer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems and related software
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure high reliability of Linux-based infrastructure
- Collaborate with teams to design and implement Linux-based solutions
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect Linux systems from unauthorized access and ensure compliance with industry regulations
- Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery procedures to minimize data loss and maintain business continuity
- Automate system administrative tasks using scripting languages such as Bash or Python to refine processes and improve efficiency
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure system security and data integrity
- Install, configure, and maintain network services, including DNS, DHCP, and LDAP
- Recommend hardware and software upgrades to improve system performance and scalability
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a bachelor's degree in information systems
- Completed Sophomore year of college
- Linux operating systems, including Ubuntu, SLES, or Red Hat proficiency
- Proficient in Linux command-line interface (CLI) and shell scripting
- Proficient in virtualization technologies, such as VMware or KVM
