  • Shift: 8-hour days, 5 shifts per week
  • Estimated Weekly Salary: $2030-$2190
<>Job Requirements</>
  • Registered Nurse (RN), Nurse Practitioner (NP), MD/DO, or advanced clinical background with NICU or neonatal care experience required
  • CDIP, CCDS, or CCS certification preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of CDI experience, with direct involvement in pediatric or neonatal populations
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, APR-DRG methodology, and clinical indicators for common NICU diagnoses
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-based environment
<>Responsibilities</>
  • Review NICU patient medical records concurrently to ensure documentation supports accurate severity of illness (SOI), risk of mortality (ROM), and APR-DRG assignment
  • Initiate and track clinical documentation queries to providers to clarify or obtain missing information
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and coders to promote best practices in clinical documentation
  • Educate providers on documentation opportunities specific to neonatal critical care
  • Serve as a NICU subject matter expert to the broader CDI and coding teams
  • Participate in audits, reporting, and performance monitoring to assess impact of CDI efforts
