Job Title: Software Engineer II
Location: Auburndale, MA
Worksite Type: Hybrid
Duration: 12+ months
Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Position Overview
This newly created engineering role focuses on designing and implementing application software for a surgical robotics product. The position is not IT-related and offers a hybrid work schedule. Candidates should be eager to learn, technically proficient, and collaborative.
Responsibilities
Design and implement application software for robotics systems.
Apply development best practices, including continuous software testing.
Collaborate with systems engineering and software QA teams to define requirements, design specifications, and test methods.
Acquire and maintain domain expertise in relevant software technologies.
Support cross-functional collaboration across engineering, QA, and product teams.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field.
Minimum 3 years of experience in application software development.
Strong proficiency in C++.
Demonstrated expertise in Object-Oriented Design and UML.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Familiarity with agile software development methodologies.
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree with less experience may be considered.
Experience with GUI frameworks (Qt, WPF).
Exposure to multi-threaded software deployment.
Familiarity with complex state machines.
Experience developing software under FDA, ISO, and IEC guidelines.
Background in surgical robotics or similar fields.
