Job Description

DESCRIPTION:

Duties: Design, develop, and implement software solutions. Collaborate with key business operations stakeholders, architects, and software engineers for strategic technology solutions. Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices. Involved in all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules. Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues. Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications. Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows. Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum education and experience required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field of study plus 7 years of experience in the job offered, or as Software Engineer, Application Developer, Project Associate, or related occupation.

Skills Required: This position requires experience with the following: Leading development of payment processing applications; T-shaped development; Performing business analysis to translate to functional requirements; Documenting product and operations requirements; Developing technical solutions for business and operations requirements; Conducting functional and regression testing using IBM Z/OS Cobol, CICS, DB2, VSAM, MQ, REXX, and IBM Utilities; Designing and developing application software solutions to meet business and operation requirements; Using CICS, DB2, and MQ to develop business online and batch application software; CA7 Scheduling to support inter dependency controls for job executions in an automated sequence; ENDEVOR to store and maintain version control of application code, code compares, code forwards, and code packages to deploy production; Delivering technical design solutions using IBM Mainframe Environment; technical architecture and designs in an IBM technology environment; Designing technical solutions to ensure application performance is not compromised by producing technical designs with consideration of performance impact mitigations; Developing ISO20022 payments messages; Software release management for managing end to end activities for software releases including production, tracking multiple projects, integrating and code maintenance across multiple code releases, resolving test environment issues, delivery of defect fixes, preparing release implementation plans, and coordinating end to end production implementation; Collaborating with product, operation, and cross impacted stakeholders; Agile methodologies to deliver requirement stories; Application Resiliency to develop software solutions that handle failures locally without impacting overall applications; Designing technical solutions that are configured to turn on or off functionality enabling easy back out; Developing software using Java in IBM WebSphere and Liberty Server.
