CA-Sunnyvale- 5 days on site or open to Seattle office on site as well

Job Description: The main function of this Mechanical Engineer is to support the development of new concepts and technologies for next generation MR Headsets. We are looking for someone with a productive mindset who can apply their mechanical engineering expertise to solve problems in creative, insightful ways. Our ideal candidate has a strong mechanical background, excellent prototyping skills, expert 3D CAD capability, and experience in designing and manufacturing consumer technology products. Job Responsibilities:
Work with a small team of engineers in developing MR devices.
Model, build, test, and refine prototypes, design components for manufacturability and structural integrity.
Contribute to mechanical solutions as part of a highly cross-functional team Document all design, simulation and modeling materials and communicate across the teams
Coordinate with manufacturing experts to optimize part design and production processes.
Support production throughout the manufacturing process to realize your designs. Skills:
Must Have:
3-5 years of previous experience designing consumer electronics, medical or similar products
Unigraphics NX 3D and 2D CAD experience
Knowledge in mechanical fundamentals: Can speak to material properties, moment analysis, mechanical aptitude
Familiar w/ manufacturing knowledge and experience specifically with plastic injection molding (needs to be able to design a plastic part that can be tooled)

Nice to have:
Background driving China-based vendors remotely and in-person
Manufacturing knowledge and experience specifically with plastic injection molding, stamping, diecasting and composites
Experience building part and assembly prototypes in the shop
Experience in Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Assembly (DFA), statistical tolerance analysis techniques, functional dimensioning, GD&T, and 3D/2D CAD
