Location: Remote

Duration: 6 months contract

About the role: Supporting a leading diversified manufacturing company with a strong presence across North America looking to modernize their telephony infrastructure (125 sites and 5,000 people).

Job Description: Senior Unified Communications Engineer to support Microsoft Teams voice and Five9s migration project. This is a long-term contract position, offering the flexibility to work remotely. You will play a crucial role in migrating legacy on-prem telephony systems and overhead paging (Informacast) to a modern, cloud-based solution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the migration of telephony systems from various legacy platforms, including Nortel, Avaya, Cisco, and Siemens, to Microsoft Teams voice and Five9s across 125 sites in North America.
  • Support a user base of 5,000 people, ensuring seamless transition and minimal disruption.
  • Configure and manage AudioCodes, routing, and other telephony-related tasks.
  • Oversee the migration process for each site, with an estimated completion time of one month per site.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful implementation and integration.
  • Provide technical expertise and troubleshooting support throughout the migration process.
  • Document processes, configurations, and best practices for future reference.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with multiple legacy telephony systems, including Nortel, Avaya, Cisco, and Siemens.
  • Proven track record of successful Five9s migration projects.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Teams voice and related technologies.
  • Proficiency in configuring and managing AudioCodes and routing.
  • Familiarity with Informacast for overhead paging systems.
  • Experience with tools and technologies such as Session Border Controllers (SBCs), SIP Trunking, and VoIP protocols.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and remotely, managing multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
