Job Details

Our direct client a large healthcare insurance client is seeking to hire a Sourcing / Procurement Lead to work hybrid (2 days/week from their location in Newark, NJ).

Job Title: Sourcing Lead / Procurement Lead
Location: 3 Penn Plaza E, Newark, NJ 07105 | Hybrid 2 days/week onsite
Duration: 6 months plus (may convert to full-time)
Pay rate: $50W2-$60/HR W2

Job Description
Be a subject matter expert in areas of IT Professional Services, including application development, applications testing, production support and applications maintenance.
Be exceptionally versed in the world of negotiating and contracting for automation, robotics and process improvement in the area of IT Professional services.
Know the market and the players in the IT Professional services arena including on shore, near shore, offshore.
Be an expert in contract reviews and management for technology and services components of IT Professional services contracts.
  • Analyze procurement data including but not limited to cost analysis, benchmarking, spend analysis, and competitive bid information in order to drive maximum supplier return on investment (ROI)
  • Manage supplier selection leveraging RFx tools to facilitate strategic sourcing and manage RFx timeline
  • Build ongoing supplier relationships through use of supplier management best practices throughout negotiation, contracting, onboarding and renewal
  • Develops annual sourcing and cost management plan with Manager, Sourcing and Supplier Management.
  • Addresses the needs and issues of key business leaders across the organization in addition to gaining full support for sourcing/cost management initiatives
  • Drives continuous procurement-related process improvement across the enterprise
  • Ensures inclusion of local and diverse suppliers in the sourcing process through active solicitation of suppliers through various chambers and organizations and active promotion of use of diverse and local suppliers with internal clients.
  • Partners with internal clients to integrate procurement processes and policies into regular business practice
  • Assists in the setting and implementation of overall strategic direction of commodity including areas for improvement and expansion.
  • Provides oversight for corporate-wide sourcing projects through the entire sourcing cycle. Provides leadership for cross-organizational sourcing initiatives and programs (e.g. new contracts, new suppliers, demand/specification management changes, work flow changes, etc.).
  • Assists the Sourcing Manager and/or Director with other duties and special projects.

Education/Experience:
  • Prefers an MBA degree.
  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of experience in strategic sourcing/procurement field
  • Requires 5+ years in RFP development and contract negotiation
  • Additional Licensing, Certifications, Registrations
  • Prefers Certified Purchasing Supply Manager (CPSM) and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Skills Requires an ability to think analytically
  • Requires excellent oral, written, listening and interpersonal skills
  • Requires good PC skills (MS Office)
  • Prefers working knowledge of eProcurement systems (i.e. WorkDay, Icertis, Cognos)
  • Requires excellent project management skills
  • Requires excellent negotiating skills
  • Requires demonstrated skills in leading large scale, complex projects with multiple interdependent work streams
  • Requires detailed oriented, self-motivated problem solver
  • Requires excellent procurement consulting skills in order to assist business owner with business requirement definition and project requirements
  • Requires outstanding interpersonal skills; must be customer focused at all times. Must be able to build and maintain relationships within business organization
  • Requires the ability to handle multiple projects and thrive in an "on-demand" environment

Knowledge
  • Requires advanced knowledge of contract negotiation strategies and processes
  • Requires knowledge of eProcurement systems (i.e. WorkDay, Icertis, Cognos)
  • Preferred - Healthcare Industry, Contracting (Legal), Finance, Technology, Workday
  • Travel (If Applicable) As Required
