Role: Emergency Management Coordinator/Consultant Location: Sacramento, CA (Hybrid) Duration: 6+ Months

Overview: This role is for an Emergency Management Coordinator or Consultant, crucial for enhancing the Client s resilience against major events and emergencies. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing comprehensive emergency plans, preparing for high-profile global events, and integrating cutting-edge situational awareness technology. Key requirements include mandatory FEMA ICS certifications (100, 200, 700, 800) and substantial experience in emergency planning, crisis communications, and event coordination, ideally within the utility sector. This position aims to build a robust, proactive emergency management framework, ensuring the Client s operational continuity and safety.

Purpose: To significantly strengthen the Client s readiness and response capabilities for major events and emergencies, ensuring comprehensive preparedness and effective incident management.

Utility experience is a MUST.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain robust Emergency Operations Plans, Continuity of Operations Plans, and Recovery Plans tailored to utility operations.
  • Lead preparedness efforts for large-scale and global special events (e.g., Super Bowl, FIFA World Cup, Olympics), including scenario planning and coordination.
  • Research, implement, and integrate advanced situational awareness technologies to enhance real-time decision-making during emergencies.
  • Participate in and lead emergency training and exercise development for enterprise-wide implementation.

Requirements:

  • Mandatory FEMA Certifications: ICS100, ICS200, ICS700, ICS800.
  • Extensive proven experience in enterprise-level emergency planning, crisis communications, and large-scale event coordination, particularly within a utility or critical infrastructure environment.
  • Strong understanding of industry best practices and regulatory compliance in emergency management.
