Job Description
***Only qualified Data Modeler candidates located near the Sioux Falls, SD area to be considered due to the position requiring an onsite presence***

Required Experience & Skills:
Proficiency in relational SQL and NoSQL database technologies
Experience working with data modelling tools such as ERwin or ER/Studio
A deep understanding of database management and design best practices on an enterprise level
Experience with and examples of conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling, data catalogs, and data lineage
Knowledge of data governance frameworks and best practices, and experience in implementing data governance programs
Understanding of business intelligence concepts
Strong analytical and communication skills
Proficiency with modern tools
Knowledge of user interface and user experience
Experience writing interface control documents
Design principles
Ability to troubleshoot and optimize interface functionality
Practical experience in software development and interface design
Ability to ensure seamless project delivery
Professional certifications in control systems or related disciplines
Familiarity with industry-specific control system software and tools
Strong project management skills and experience handling multiple projects.

Responsibilities:
Requirements gathering phase working with Client IT resources and other members of Client to assist with data sources, current data mapping and current interface structure with the understanding that access to the mainframe data directly will not be possible (working through state IT resources will be required)
Create Medicaid-related Interface Registry for all Client Medicaid applications
Document and write Medicaid-related Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for any interface listed in the Interface Registry that does not have an associated ICD
Create a Medicaid-related Interface Management Plan
Create Medicaid related data modeling, data warehouse structure if none exists
Create Medicaid data catalog and data lineage
Create Medicaid-related Data Governance and Management Plan in consultation with Client and other resources
Work alongside Client Medicaid staff to understand system to system interactions and data flow and map movement of data between different parts of Medicaid systems and processes, reporting of data to internal and external partners, and data storage, organization and security
Recommendations on improvements to current data governance and management, ICD's and other data control documents for all Medicaid systems and applications, including recommendations on data governance, data cataloging, data interface documentation, and other data related tools
Identification of risks related to current data management and interface structure
Recommendations on streamlining data management, data sharing, data governance and system integration. This may include data inconsistencies, integration challenges and security or compliance issues
Any effort that is not related to creating Medicaid-related data management deliverables is out of scope for this project. For example, any work to document non-Medicaid interfaces in the interface registry deliverable is out of scope
Creating a monthly status report associated with any work accomplished timelines related to this work order
Other related duties as assigned
