Job Title: Data Governance Lead With Handson Task

Education & Experience:

• 7+ years of Enterprise Data Management experience
• Minimum of 4 years in a Data Governance Lead role in a formal Data Governance program
• 3+ years of consulting experience strongly preferred
• 3+ years of experience working collaboratively and/or leading offshore teams
• Practical experience in at least 4 of the following areas besides data governance:

• Data Integration/Movement
• Business Intelligence
• Data Quality
• Metadata Management including working with metadata platforms/tools
• Cloud Platforms
• Master Data Management
• Big Data
• Business and Data Analysis
• Data Modeling
• AI

• Experience in developing a Data Governance operating model where none exists today, or assessing and improving on an existing Data Governance operating model
• Experience in developing and rolling out data governance and data quality frameworks
• Experience working with business and IT functions in a variety of corporate cultures, as both an employee and consultant
• Experienced working in centralized and federated corporate structures
• Experience working with business / technical development team / data stewards to clearly document Data Governance and metadata standards, practices, and policies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in business terms and complex business concepts in technical terms
• Strong experience in interviewing and group facilitation.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Deep knowledge in additional areas of the data management industry (MDM, Data Quality, Data Warehousing, Business Intelligence, Big Data, Cloud, Data Modeling)
• Demonstrated experience with or certification in data management or related frameworks preferred; ability to attain proficiency and obtain certifications required such as DCAM, DAMA/DMBOK
• Demonstrated understanding and ability to apply data governance principles to meet regulatory and compliance requirements, including new regulations as they become available
• Display a strong executive presence with the ability to be an effective trusted advisor.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills as well as presentation skills.
• Strong SQL skills required
• Expertise with Data Governance and metadata tools such as Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Erwin, Atlan, etc.
• Knowledge and some experience with cloud native data catalogs is beneficial
• Demonstrate critical thinking, logical and analytical problem-solving.
• Advanced understanding of Enterprise Data Management concepts and prior consulting background.
• Lead small teams while navigating politics in large client environments.
• Understand when and how to apply Data Governance tools.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet aggressive deadlines
• Ability to travel for client engagements.
• Demonstrates ability to create new and innovative solutions to problems that have previously not been encountered.
• Excels in a fast paced, agile environment where critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills are required for success.
• Understanding of, and ability to, apply data governance frameworks to organizational design, programs, and projects
