Mid-Level QA Engineer
Remote - working MST hours
6-month contract
$50-55/hr.

The ComeUntoChrist team is seeking a skilled and motivated Mid-Level QA Engineer for a 6-month contract position. In this role, you'll help ensure the stability, quality, and user experience of our faith-centered web platform through a mix of automated and manual testing - roughly 70% automation and 30% manual testing. You will work closely with a cross-functional team to build and execute end-to-end tests using Cypress and Playwright, while also performing targeted manual testing for new features, edge cases, and user flows that require human judgment. The ComeUntoChrist team builds and maintains one of the Church's most impactful public-facing websites - a destination for individuals seeking to learn about Jesus Christ and His gospel. Our team works on meaningful, high-traffic projects with eternal purpose and global reach.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, run, and maintain automated E2E tests using Cypress and Playwright
  • Perform manual testing on new features, regression cases, and exploratory scenarios
  • Collaborate with developers, designers, and product managers to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage
  • Identify, document, and track bugs and issues in a timely, clear, and reproducible way
  • Monitor and triage automated test runs in CI/CD pipelines
  • Assist in shaping test strategies and improving QA best practices on the team
  • Participate in sprint ceremonies and contribute to planning and retrospectives

Required Skills
  • 3-5 years of QA experience, with a mix of automation and manual testing
  • Strong experience with Cypress
  • Strong experience with Playwright
  • E2E Testing
  • Solid understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript and modern web app architecture
  • Familiar with REST APIs, browser dev tools, and debugging workflows
  • Experience with agile development processes and version control (Git)
  • Comfortable working independently and proactively in a fast-paced environment

Bonus Skills
  • Experience testing content-driven websites with global reach
  • Familiarity with accessibility testing and tools like axe-core
  • Exposure to visual regression testing tools (e.g., Percy, Applitools)
  • Understanding of internationalization (i18n) and localization testing
  • Prior experience with mission-driven or nonprofit organizations
  • Member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy.
