Job Title: Linux System Administrator
Work Location: Richardson. TX
Duration: Long-term contract with option to hire
Job Description:

Seeking a talented and experienced Linux System Administrator to join our team in a classified environment. As a system administrator, you will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining system health and security posture, directly supporting customer mission-critical capabilities. You will work closely with program developers and system engineers to research issues, determine root causes and implement solutions to system problems. Many programs employ Agile methodology in managing work. This position is an onsite role.
Responsibilities :

  • Administering Red Hat Linux based systems with minimal support, to include patching, creating RPM packages, performance tuning, networking, user management (LDAP), and security
  • Hardware and software troubleshooting
  • Scripting, particularly in Bash and Python
  • Installing, administering and troubleshooting recent versions of VMware (ESXi and vCenter)
  • Must be able to support occasional after hour maintenance and on-call support

Skills & Qualifications :

  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date (TS/SCI with poly).
  • Must have an active DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 certification (or higher) on start date. IAT Level 2 requires one or more of the following Professional Certifications: Security+ CE, CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP, CySA+, CND.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds in support of hardware installations
  • Bachelor's in science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience administering Windows based systems
  • Proficiency with Enterprise level administration of common services such as DNS, sendmail, and LDAP
  • Strong analytic and research skills - must be detail oriented
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and troubleshoot problems with efficiency
  • Requires the ability to effectively interact with external personnel on significant technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and vendors
