Job Details
We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Usability Engineer to join our UX team. This role requires a strong foundation in human factors engineering, usability testing (formative and summative), FMEA, and UX design. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with tools like Figma, capable of leading design efforts, collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders, and driving user-centred design decisions through data analysis and documentation

Mandatory skills
- 5+ years of experience in usability engineering or UX design.
- Proven experience with FMEA, formative/summative testing, and use analysis.
- Proficiency in Figma and other design/research tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., healthcare, medical devices) is a plus.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with FDA Human Factors guidance or IEC 62366.
- Experience with statistical analysis tools for usability data.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment
Responsibilities:
- Usability Testing & Evaluation: Plan, conduct, and analyse formative and summative usability tests.
- Develop test protocols, recruit participants, and synthesise findings into actionable insights.
- Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify and mitigate usability risks.
- UX Design & Prototyping: Create wire frames, mock ups, and interactive prototypes using Figma.
- Collaborate with designers and developers to ensure design feasibility and alignment with user needs.
- Lead design reviews and provide mentorship to junior designers.
- Research & Analysis: Conduct use analysis and generate comprehensive Use Analysis Reports
- Analyse qualitative and quantitative data to inform design decisions.
- Translate user needs and business requirements into intuitive design solutions.
- Documentation & Compliance: Maintain detailed documentation of usability activities, findings, and design iterations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant standards and guidelines (e.g., FDA, ISO, IEC for medical devices if applicable).
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a key point of contact for UX-related discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
- Present findings, recommendations, and design concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Ownership & Leadership: Take full ownership of usability deliverables across projects.
- Lead cross-functional design efforts and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
