Shift Time: DAY SHIFT 10:00 AM-6:00 PM (1 hour break included) alternating weekends required - Weekends/Holidays required - Training will be for 2 weeks, from 9a-5p, including the EPIC class
Schedule Notes: Registered as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by American Radiologic Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required - At least 1 year General Registered Ultrasound experience - Experience in an Acute setting required - No Virtual Interviews - In-Person only

Position Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Ultrasound Technologist to join our imaging team at Elmhurst Hospital Center. The ideal candidate will have strong general ultrasound experience in an acute care setting and demonstrate a commitment to delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging with compassion and accuracy. The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic ultrasound procedures, assisting radiologists in acquiring high-quality images, and maintaining safe, efficient, and patient-focused operations within the imaging department.
Key Responsibilities
Perform general diagnostic ultrasound procedures in accordance with departmental and hospital protocols.
Prepare patients for exams, explain procedures clearly, and ensure patient comfort and safety throughout imaging sessions.
Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper calibration and safe operation at all times.
Capture and review ultrasound images, ensuring high diagnostic quality for interpretation by the radiologist.
Accurately document patient and procedural information within the EPIC electronic health record system.
Maintain cleanliness and readiness of ultrasound rooms and equipment.
Assist radiologists and other healthcare providers during diagnostic procedures as needed.
Adhere to all infection control, radiation safety, and hospital policies.
Participate in staff meetings, departmental training, and ongoing quality improvement initiatives.
Perform additional related duties as assigned to support department operations.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum of one (1) year of General Registered Ultrasound experience.
Experience working in an acute care hospital or clinical setting.
Demonstrated ability to perform and interpret a wide range of general ultrasound procedures.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-centered approach.
Proficiency with EPIC or similar electronic health record systems (training provided if needed).
Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
Required Education: Completion of an accredited training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or equivalent, including Military Training if applicable.
Required Certifications & Licensure
Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) certification through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) required.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
