Technology Stack: Oracle, PL/SQL, Java, React, and Angular. The manager is looking for someone with excellent communication skills, strong critical thinking ability, and a persuasive speaking style.

The Technical Architect provides architectural leadership and guidance within their assigned business area, ensuring solution development aligns with the broader architectural vision and roadmap. The role requires expertise across multiple domains, including Application/Solution Architecture, Technical/Infrastructure Architecture, and Information/Data Architecture, along with hands-on experience using relevant technologies, platforms, and tools.

As a leader, the Technical Architect is expected to influence the assigned organization and work independently with senior business and IT leaders, while serving as a mentor and role model for development teams. The Technical Architect is accountable for the successful implementation of architecture within their assigned teams, which demands excellent communication skills, the ability to collaborate with developers of varying skill levels, and the capability to identify, surface, and resolve architectural issues in a collaborative manner.

Architecture Leadership Responsibilities: The Technical Architect translates business strategy, the Architecture Vision, and the Architecture Runway into business-area solutions, architectures, and implementable features. The role involves driving the technology vision within the assigned business or application area and evaluating new technologies and external products for suitability to project and roadmap requirements.

This includes taking an opportunistic approach to incorporating enterprise Architecture Runway components into incremental development plans such as Program Increment (PI) planning. The Technical Architect must balance business and R&D needs, ensuring pragmatic use of development resources while enabling economical, scalable, and supportable solutions. The role also includes establishing and maintaining technology standards for applications and driving technical designs to consensus and approval when required.

The Technical Architect participates in the Enterprise Architecture Community of Practice (COP) to support the creation and evolution of enterprise architecture, including the Architectural Vision, Architecture Runway, and governance processes.

Managerial Responsibilities: The Technical Architect leads the technology vision, architecture, and implementation within the assigned business area and mentors developers across associated development teams. If the role includes direct line management, the Technical Architect will act as a player/coach and handle personnel management responsibilities such as work assignments, timecards, performance goals and reviews, and quality reviews.

Other Related Responsibilities: In coordination with the Enterprise Architecture COP, the Technical Architect may analyze technology industry and market trends to assess their impact on the business and enterprise architecture, helping to evolve the Enterprise Architecture Vision and Runway. The role also includes completing responsibilities outlined in the annual Performance Plan, handling special projects, and performing other duties as assigned, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Qualifications: A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required, or equivalent professional experience. The role requires 8+ years of experience in Application/Solution Architecture, Technical/Infrastructure Architecture, or Information/Data Architecture, along with hands-on experience in both greenfield development and the refactoring or rewriting of legacy applications.

The candidate should have at least one year of experience directly leading architecture and software design for one or more teams, experience working in an Agile model (preferably SAFe), experience with CI/CD practices, and experience using open-source technologies in an enterprise environment. Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments is required, with preferred experience in microservices, containerization, and virtual machines.

The role requires the ability to rapidly understand new technologies, balance long-term architectural vision with short-term decision-making, and translate business needs into architecture requirements. The Technical Architect must be able to clearly articulate advanced technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and communicate business issues effectively with staff, peers, leadership, vendors, and partners.

Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, interpersonal, leadership, analytical, and organizational skills are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required, along with professionalism and the ability to handle confidential information appropriately. The role also requires the ability to work independently or within a team, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and handle high workloads and frequent change positively.

After-hours or weekend work may be required for major deliverables or deadlines, though not on a consistent basis. The candidate must be flexible and willing to work within an international organization, including participating in conference calls across global time zones. Travel of up to 25% may be required, and the candidate must be eligible for international travel if needed.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements: The role involves remaining in a stationary position for extended periods, communicating with others to exchange information, performing repetitive hand and wrist motions, and assessing the accuracy, neatness, and thoroughness of assigned work. No adverse environmental conditions are expected.

The Technical Architect must be able to provide a dedicated and secure work area, maintain high-speed internet connectivity, and ensure proper office setup and ongoing maintenance.
