Location: Greenwood, MS (onsite; local candidates preferred)
Employment Type: Full-time assignment (6?12 months)

About the role
Serve as the on-site quality lead in the fabrication shop?ensuring weld quality, code compliance, and tight documentation that keeps production on schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Perform visual weld inspections per AWS D1.1 (and project specs): fit-up, preheat/interpass, weld size/finish, acceptance criteria.

  • Verify compliance with WPS/PQR; confirm base/filler materials and parameters.

  • Witness/record welder qualification tests; maintain continuity logs.

  • Generate inspection reports, weld maps, NCRs/corrective actions; maintain traceability.

  • Coordinate third-party NDE (MT/PT/UT) as required; review and file reports.

  • Support shop audits, tool calibration, and quality/safety best practices.

  • Partner with Production/Engineering to resolve non-conformances quickly.

Qualifications

  • Active AWS CWI required.

  • 3+ years CWI experience in a fabrication shop or industrial setting.

  • Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1; exposure to D1.3/D1.6 and ASME Section IX a plus.

  • Read/interpret drawings and isometrics; proficient with MS Office; Bluebeam/weld-mapping tools a plus.

  • Detail-driven documentation; able to work in a shop environment (climb/stand; lift up to 30 lbs).

  • Valid driver?s license; background/drug screen.
