Job Details
The successful candidate will be able to perform complex functional activities in support of servers running the Windows server operating system for the Client. They will be expected to regularly exercise independent judgment, as well as high level of analytic skill, in solving complex technical problems for the Client in the Windows Server and Virtual ESX environment. This individual serves as the focal point for problem resolution by interacting with Client's employees and (multiple) equipment and application vendors to ensure proper application installation and operation, and problem resolution. The individual will also serve as the trainer and mentor to the other Windows Administrator position at various times. This individual will be expected to work independently with a minimum of guidance or direction
List of tasks to be performed:
Provide a quality-controlled software release management system to all servers and end user workstations, including troubleshooting and problem resolution to ensure successful delivery of software releases
Schedule and deploy operating system or operating system components, patches or service pack releases, new or modified anti-virus software, custom written internal and or Commercial Off The Shelf (COTS) software using MECM, Ansible, other automation tools, or manually as required
Build, upgrade, configure servers with proper documented security settings and place them in the proper
Accept revised application software packages that have been certified by the Postal Service for production release (including new versions of existing software components) and perform an initial assessment of the impact to server operations
Recommends and takes action to improve processes
Perform any necessary testing of installing or updating software according to the requested action following the Client Program Team s approval
Use system management tools to monitor, mitigate, and remediate vulnerabilities
Provide project plans, reports, and presentations using Microsoft suite of tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, etc.)
Required Experience Level:
Minimum of 5-7 years experience, in server management preferred
Educational Requirements:
A degree from an accredited College/University in the applicable field of services is preferred.
NOTE: If resource does not have a relevant college degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required.
